What Type of Chemicals do You Use For Hood Cleaning?
We use only environmentally safe chemicals when doing hood cleaning. They are sprayed onto the hood and duct system and left to sit for a designated period of time. Once the grease is dissolved, we use a commercial grade pressure washer to wash the chemicals off. They are trapped and disposed of according to the county guidelines.
We will also clean the filters or replace them if necessary. We inspect the hinges and will repair or replace as necessary.
How Long Does it Take to Have a Hood Cleaning?
The time it takes for our professional teams to perform a hood cleaning depends on the amount of grease that is built up in the exhaust system. Also, it depends on how many feet of ductwork is involved.
Typically if hood cleaning has been done on a regular basis and the restaurant is in a one-story building, we can get the job done in less than two hours.
We have had jobs that took up to five hours. This is because the restaurant owner/manager has waited way too long to have a professional hood cleaning. If the grease has major build up, we may have to scrape the grease off before we can apply chemicals. We make sure we get the job done right the first time.
